Apple Unveils New iPad Air and Regular iPad with Faster Processors and AI Features

Apple has officially announced refreshed versions of its iPad Air and regular iPad, bringing upgraded processors and enhanced AI capabilities to boost performance and usability.

iPad Air Gets M3 Upgrade

Apple is upgrading the iPad Air from the M2 chip to 2023’s M3, delivering faster performance and improved AI capabilities with Apple Intelligence.

"Users will feel the speed of M3 in everything they do, from creating engaging content faster than ever to playing demanding, graphics-intensive games," Apple says. "The faster Neural Engine in M3 means iPad Air users can enjoy even more AI capabilities in iPadOS.”

The M3-powered iPad Air is available in 11-inch ($599) and 13-inch ($799) models, with preorders starting today and deliveries beginning March 12.

Regular iPad Gets a Speed Boost

Apple is also upgrading the regular iPad, moving from the A14 chip to the A16 processor—the same chip that debuted in the iPhone 14 Pro series. This upgrade boosts performance by about 30% compared to the previous generation.

Additionally, base storage is doubling from 64GB to 128GB, while the starting price remains $349. Like the iPad Air, preorders open today, with availability starting March 12.

New Magic Keyboard for iPad Air

While the hardware design remains unchanged, Apple is introducing a new Magic Keyboard for iPad Air, featuring:
✅ A larger trackpad for better navigation
✅ A 14-key function row for quick access to brightness and volume controls

Expanding Apple Intelligence

Apple continues to integrate AI-powered features across its devices. Last month, the company launched the iPhone 16e, a budget-friendly model priced at around $600, making Apple Intelligence more accessible in key markets like India.

Apple Intelligence enables users to write emails, send messages, and edit photos. Initially unavailable when the iPhone 16 series launched in September, these AI features have been gradually rolling out across more languages and regions.

With these latest upgrades, Apple is refining its tablet lineup, delivering faster performance, enhanced AI capabilities, and a better user experience while keeping prices steady.

TikTok plans to shut down its app in the U.S. on Sunday, according to sources. TikTok Faces Potential Shutdown in the U.S. on Sunday TikTok is preparing to cease its U.S. operations on Sunday, affecting its 170 million American users, unless a last-minute intervention prevents the enforcement of a federal ban, according to sources familiar with the situation. The shutdown stems from a law requiring TikTok’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to divest its U.S. operations by January 19. Federal Ban and Legal Dispute The federal ban, signed into law last April, mandates the removal of TikTok from Apple’s and Google’s app stores if ByteDance fails to comply with the divestment deadline. The law also prohibits U.S. companies from providing services necessary for the platform’s maintenance or updates, effectively making the app inoperable for existing users. ByteDance has argued in court filings that the law violates the First Amendment’s protections against government restrictions on ...
